For the second Sunday evening in a row, I found myself doubled over with extreme abdominal pain, nausea, and back pain. It starts as just kind of a ball of pain in my gut, akin to what you might expect if you had a nasty gas bubble, but it quickly escalates until it feels like someone has tied my insides into a knot and continues to twist/pull on them. Combine this with the horrible back pain and feeling like I'm about to go throw up and it makes for a rather unpleasant experience. This was the second time in as many weeks that this has hit me. Eventually, after writhing in pain for a while and spending some time on the bathroom floor, I was able to fall asleep and basically "sleep it off." I woke up this morning (and last Monday morning) with just a lingering feeling like someone had kicked me in the stomach.
If something like this were to just happen the one time, I would consider it a fluke. Something I ate, perhaps. However, with it coming on again a second time, I can't help but start to wonder if something more serious is going on here.
