I swear, he was sleeping through the night at one point. Micah got a cold a couple weeks back and that severely affected his sleep, but he just has not bounced back yet, even though he is back to breathing pretty much normally without all the snot buildup in his nose. Once again, I was up pretty much all night long again last night. Evan fed him an 8 oz bottle around 11:00 pm, but Micah was awake by 1:30 am. I was in that room about 4 times between 1:30 and 2:15 to give him his nuk or to soothe him before he finally feel back asleep until 3:15 am. I went through the same song & dance until about 3:45 and at that point, I realized he was hungry - ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!! I made a 6 oz bottle and he sucked it dry. I spent the next 40 minutes trying to get him to go back to sleep, but both times I put him in his crib after having rocked him to sleep, he woke up immediately and I couldn't get him quieted down.
That's when I tagged Evan in.
What are we doing wrong here? Should we be starting to sleep-train Micah already? These overnights are kicking my butt so any suggestions from the seasoned parents would be very welcomed!! Here's what
Parents Magazine has to say on the subject, but I'm more interested in hearing what you have to say.
