Baby Blues

The one nice thing about Evan being gone is that it gives me free reign to scrapbook after the kids go to bed.  Most of the time, I hang out upstairs with him, but I guess I can find the silver lining in this whole China thing in that I can just head downstairs for some "just me and my scraproom" time.  I got a little taste of this Thursday night when Evan had to be gone all night for some super-important meeting with super-important people about his super-important China trip.

I'm sorry....did I sound sarcastic there?

Anyway, the boys were sound asleep and it was about 8:30 so I went down to my scraproom for a bit.  In about 20 minutes or so, I threw together this little beauty.  So simple, but I just love it.  I've been dying to make a page about Micah's eyes for ages and I just love how the softness of the patterned paper works with those gorgeous eyes.

Not too shabby, eh? If you look at it in person, Micah's blue eyes really pop right off the page, especially in the photo I have matted in white that's mounted with dimensional adhesive.

I scored the blue letter stickers in the $1.99 bargain bin the last time I was at Archiver's.  Gotta love a good deal!  The white stickers are my obsession, Thickers by American Crafts.  Talk about a gift from the scrapbooking gods.  The blue flower flourish is by K & Company and the circle die-cut paper is by Making Memories.

The journaling reads:  With every month that passes, I keep expecting them to darken, but so far they haven't!  I'm holding out hope that your eyes will stay this color because Micah, you have the most beautiful...BABY BLUES.

If I can get a bunch of layouts done while Evan is busy auditing in Tonglu and drinking Baiju, it just might make the whole missing him like crazy thing just a little bit easier.  I guess we'll see.
