Micah - 7 Months

Now see here, Micah.  No darling, don't give me that smile.  I really want to talk to you about something serious.  Put the toys down.  Here, maybe you'll listen better if you're on your tummy.

Don't you give me that face, young man!  I get enough sass from your brother; I don't need it out of you already.

That's better.  Now Micah, I thought we had an understanding.  You're supposed to stay little (and stationary) for a while yet.  I'm not ready for you to be crawling, pulling up, speaking in syllables, that sort of thing.  I all but blinked and your brother was saying things like, "Mama look!  Dave is hurt."  Seriously?  When did he start spouting out sentences?  I'm just not ready for that yet, Micah.  You're 7 months old already and it's going too fast!

Here's what Micah is up to at 7 months old that has his Mommy all in a tizzy:

- Sitting up on his own!  (for a few seconds at least)

- Eating "real" food.  Sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots are all big favorites right now.  He also likes to have chunkier foods fed to him off Mommy's finger.

- Working on crawling.  A combination of rolling and "inchworm" scooting has him extremely mobile right now.  I suspect crawling is coming SOON.

- No teeth as of yet, but the two bottom ones are visible, sitting right there at the edge of breaking through the gums.

- He babbles in syllables now, rather than just random vowel sounds.  It just makes it all the more heart-breaking when he's upset about something and he whines with "Ba ba ba ba."  Wow, that just doesn't translate when I type it.  Guess you had to be there.

- Still struggling with dry skin, especially on his enormous, 80th percentile, bald melon.

- No longer content to just lay there and observe, he likes to have a toy to play with, a person to interact with, or a Jumperoo to bounce it.  He loves to be entertained and gets a bit ticked when he feels left out.

- Still a voracious eater.  Clearly.  That kid is still huge.  He's tough too though.  That comes in handy when I catch Isaiah sitting on his back yelling, "Yee Haw!!  Giddyup cowboy!"

- He moves a LOT in his sleep.  I swear, he does laps of his crib all night long.

- Continues to have a cheerful disposition and a bubbly personality.

Love you, baby.  But please....slow down just a bit, ok?
