Got your attention with that title, didn't I? Don't worry; I don't plan on mixing things up this week by going au naturale on my weekly trip to Walgreens. Based on recommendations from my good friend Sarah and others, I have declared this week to be "Naked Week" for Isaiah with a goal of being mostly potty training by the 4th of July! Sarah calls it the "Naked and $75" plan for potty training. The naked part is where you let the potty trainee run around without the security of a diaper for 4 days straight in an effort to encourage them to use the potty. The $75 part is for any carpet cleaning needed for accidents!
I have heard a lot about the success of this method, both from Sarah and some other experienced moms I have asked about potty training. I'm a bit nervous at the prospect of a naked toddler running around my house for the next few days, but if it means being able to say good-bye to diapers, I'm willing to give it a try.
Unfortunately, our boot camp is going to be interrupted on Tuesday when the boys go to their babysitter while I have an appointment with my rheumatologist (more on that later), but hopefully the other four days of the week will be all I need to get Isaiah to use the potty! Wish us luck!
