Exam Room Entertainment

Keeping a toddler entertained in a doctor's exam room is practically impossible.  Every four seconds you find yourself shouting warnings at random to keep your child from trying to ingest a needle or ram a Q-tip up his nose.  I was stupid and failed to bring along any books for him to read so we didn't even have that option.  Luckily, I was blessed with a quirky yet creative child who came up with his own fun.

He pretended to go Ni Night.

Then he figured that since Micah wasn't using them, he would turn his little brother's shorts into a ill-fitting hat.

Only....it ended up looking more like a mutation of a nun's habit.

But it made him happy and kept him giggling, so who was I to argue?

Then the shorts became hair.....

And finally, a volcano.

Yes, that's right.  Volcano.  He was pretending he was inside a volcano.

Whatever, kid.  Thank goodness the nurse returned shortly after this.  Of course, I didn't tell him he was about to get a shot until the last second, for fear he would retreat to his volcano.  He was a tough little trooper and only squealed a little!
