He Made Me a Mommy

On November 9th, 2007 at 8:25 pm, this boy came into my life after 12 hours of labor.  He was rough on me coming into this world, but he's been the absolute joy of my heart ever since.

Isaiah Robert is named after his grandfather, his mother's father.  It suits him because he takes after his Mama in so many ways.  This guy is a mini-me.  He has my eyes, my emotional mood swings, my affinity for cuddling up in a soft blanket, my love of a good movie.

He used to be afraid of balloons, but now he's afraid of the dark.

He sleeps with Clifford the Big Red Dog and his name blanket that Aunt Maribeth gave him.

I really wish he would try some new foods without throwing a fit because I can only feed him peanut butter sandwiches, pasta, and chicken nuggets so often before I worry he'll actually turn into a chicken nugget.

Isaiah wants nothing more than to please people.  He loves to be the center of attention and he will go out of his way to make sure you find him charming.  Again, I have no idea where he gets this.

He is a champion sleeper.  While Micah rages and screams in the room next door, Isaiah is passed out in Mommy's bed.  That boy loves a good nap....yet another quality he got from me.

Although he has absolutely zero regard for lyrics or melody, Isaiah loves to sing.  He loves to sing the songs he learns at Glory Bees Preschool, the ABCs, the theme song to Little Einsteins"Fat Bottom Girls" by Queen, and this little number by Luke Bryan.

Yup, not making any of that up.

I love you, kiddo.  Happy 4th Birthday, Isaiah.  Thanks so much for making me a Mommy.

Now please start eating your vegetables.
