Here we are, 12 years after I got that first credit card and I can finally say this for the very first time.
Are you ready? This is going to be fun.
I HAVE NO CREDIT CARD DEBT!!!!!!!
I want to shout it from the rooftops, call Dave Ramsey, or wear a sign around my neck. Seriously, this is a BIG deal for us. We had dug ourselves into a nasty hole with our credit cards. When Evan married me, he unfortunately married my credit card debt, which had grown to a nasty number by the time I was 20. After we got married, we swiped that thing for pretty much anything.
Wedding expenses? Credit Card.
Honeymoon? Credit Card.
Unexpected car repairs? Credit Card.
Shopping trip to Target? Credit Card.
You get the picture. It was out of control. But we took control, made a plan, and now we are just shy of our 2 year anniversary of getting our heads out of our butts (financially speaking) and we have destroyed that last card. It felt really good.
No, we haven't received a tax refund yet. Admit it, some of you were thinking that. After putting paying off this last card on my "25 for my 20s" list, I just felt like we should rid ourselves of that cursed thing, once and for all. We had the money saved, so we pulled the trigger. Pushing "PAY NOW" felt amazing.
So, that's #25 on the list...done. Crossing that bad boy off and moving on to the next one!
