It is, however, time to move this blog. Blogger (the platform I use to create this here blog) has been driving me batty for some time now and the latest post where I tried to show you the video of Thomas sent me over the edge. Code not working, photos not uploading, hard to navigate tools, and multiple bugs have just pushed me to the point where I'm ready to part ways and try something new.
So, to WordPress we go.
Here's the plan. I have been chatting with a gal on Twitter who is hoping to help me out with this transition, including a new blog design. The name and URL should stay the same, so using www.thearenaupdate.com should still bring you here. Of course, the big difference will be that it takes you to a brand new site. Where things get tricky is when it comes to packing the "baggage" and bringing all that with me. I don't want to lose any of the content that I've written on here in the past 4 years, so I need to figure out how to transfer it. My comments might be lost forever. I remember that when Jessica at The Mom Creative made the jump to WordPress, she had professional developer people who were struggling to save her comments from Disqus. Well, I don't have "people." I have me and I have KK. I'll be lucky if I'm able to pull this off with some semblance of grace.
Moral of the story....changes are a'coming. I'm going to get to work on the new site as soon as I can so that it can go live as quickly as possible. Of course, since we're in the middle of trying to sell the house and I have three little monsters running around all day, who know when that will actually be. :)
By the way, do me a favor and start thinking of "The Arena Update" in a more metaphorical sense, ok? Like....the "arena" of parenting. Think Gladiator. But without the blood, guts, and killing. Ok, there might be some blood. I am the mama of three BOYS after all.
Anyone out there reading this have any advice for this transition? Any tips or trick you can offer to make it as painless as possible?
