What I Wore Wednesday - Loving the Stripes

I used to think that horizontal stripes were off limits in my wardrobe because they would make me look heavy.  I eventually came to the realization that it was all the extra weight I was carrying around that was making me look heavy, not any kind of pattern on my shirt.

So I put stripes back on the list of trends to try and I was surprised to find how much I liked them!

Striped Shirt - LOFT, Turquoise straight cords - LOFT, Blessed & Lucky Necklace - Lisa Leonard Designs, Flats - Payless (from a long, LONG time ago)

My very first time shopping at LOFT, I found this outfit.  When the salesgirl suggested I try on these turquoise cords in a size 2, I thought she had lost her marbles.  Then she gave me this striped top with a zipper on the shoulder and I was convinced she was clinically insane.  But I loved it.  I feel so casual yet so pulled together in this outfit.  Worn with my favorite black flats that show off my tattoo, this was one of my favorite combos this fall.

Headband - Gussy Sews, Necklace - Lisa Leonard Designs

And when I want to make it a little more cutsey, I wear my Gussy Sews headband for a touch of softness and my Gold Fine Feather necklace.

Another little gem I found at LOFT (yes, I think I can safely say I am obsessed now) was this black and white striped tank.  I wear it under my purple cardigan, teal cardigan, wine cardigan or my brown jacket.  It's so versatile that I had to order it in another color!

Here's that same cardigan in yellow and white paired with my long brown sweater.

Striped top - LOFT, Brown sweater - Target, Silver Jeans - Maurices, Earrings - Erica's Creative Creations (Etsy shop)

Funny story.  The outfit I'm wearing above was my back up outfit that I brought to Thanksgiving just in case I got puked on.  As it turns out, that little cherub my husband is holding had barfed all over me about 30 minutes before we took this photo and I had changed clothes.  Nice little tidbit, huh?

Striped top - Old Navy, Pink scarf - Not sure (gift from a long time ago), Black Tank - Maurice's, Turquoise cords - LOFT

After Christmas, I returned a pair of Super Skinny pants I had purchased in a moment of temporary insanity and bought this top instead.  For only $8.50, I think it was a good pick up!

Alrighty then, I suppose that's enough stripe talk for one day.  See you next time, friends.
