Project Life Tuesday - Week 11

The Mom CreativeWelcome to Project Life Tuesday!  Every week I share photos of a layout I've been working on, either in my family's weekly book or my son's baby book.  I recently got caught up on a full four weeks worth of Project Life, so I have some fun new stuff to show you soon.

I started using the Project Life system in 2010, so this will be my fourth full year!

I am not a "fancy scrapbooker."  There are so many people out there doing some very impressive things with their Project Life albums that involve a combination of digital skills, pretty embellishments, and other fancy-pants techniques.  I'm not one of those.  I keep it pretty simple so that I know I can keep up and avoid becoming overwhelmed.  To me, it's more important to keep the memories than it is to make them look like they came out of a magazine.  I'm totally fine with it if my layouts feature more iPhone photos than DSLR shots and Instagram is my friend.

I do like to have fun with it though.  :)

If you're looking for inspiration on what others are doing with their Project Life, you can check out my board on Pinterest and be sure to link up on The Mom Creative!

Week 11 - I bought the Jade Kit when it was featured on HSN for an insane deal and I started incorporating it into my Seafoam Kit during this week's layout.

So on this left page you see a title card from Seafoam (with some Thickers and a rub-on) and then the "hello today" and blue journal card are from Jade.

The "Week in Review" card is a Cathy Z template.  The color doesn't match because there is some inexplicable reason why Walgreens prints their photos at about 3 times darker than they appear on my computer screen while I am editing.  For real, I have to lighten the heck out of them just to get them to print even remotely normal. Annoying.

For our little outing to the zoo, I used a Design H (which is basically a Design A cut in half).

The adorable photos of my children and the animals were taken by my good friend Marissa Ray of Merrier Photography.  She came to WI for a visit with her family and took time out to drive all the way to my house so we could take my kids to to zoo.  Talk about a friend, huh??!!

The journal cards are from the Jade kit and I added Thickers, some washi, and a stamp to jazz 'em up.

Allow me to say that I was really happy with how easily I was able to weave the Jade elements in with the Seafoam Kit.  I really didn't want to just make a sudden switch so the rest of the book didn't make sense, but I've found it pretty easy to keep incorporating both kits.

The Bigs had their very first visit to the dentist during this week, so the top half of the right page is devoted to that milestone.  They both passed their exam with flying colors!

The bottom half is all about the women's conference I attended at my church on the Saturday of this particular week.

I love how this week came off looking cheerful, happy, and light.  The colors in the book reflected the moods of the people in my world that week.  We had a great week and Project Life communicated that.

Have a wonderful day and I'm so thankful you came by today for a visit.  See you soon!
