Project Life Tuesday - Week 9

The Mom CreativeWelcome to Project Life Tuesday! Today I am sharing Week 9 from our family's album and I am hard at work behind to scenes on weeks 12-15 so I can get back to being caught up.

I started using the Project Life system in 2010, so this will be my fourth full year!

I am not a "fancy scrapbooker."  There are so many people out there doing some very impressive things with their Project Life albums that involve a combination of digital skills, pretty embellishments, and other fancy-pants techniques.  I'm not one of those.  I keep it pretty simple so that I know I can keep up and avoid becoming overwhelmed.  To me, it's more important to keep the memories than it is to make them look like they came out of a magazine.  I'm totally fine with it if my layouts feature more iPhone photos than DSLR shots and Instagram is my friend.

I do like to have fun with it though.  :)

If you're looking for inspiration on what others are doing with their Project Life, you can check out my board on Pinterest and be sure to link up on The Mom Creative!

On the left side of the page, I trimmed down the cover from the Baptism workbook that we used in our class at church.  I sliced it up so it would fit into two 3x4 spots and the 4x6 spot below it.  Then I included a photo of all of us who got baptized on the same day, a collage of photos of me, and then the QR code card links up to the video of my baptism.  I really cherish this page.

I love using these inserts to feature Instagram photos.  I also utilized the double-sided feature of the journal cards and wrote on both sides for this particular insert.  It seemed to jive pretty well!

And then here is the Design F insert:

The bottom two rows are obviously dedicated to the highlights from the Academy Awards:

And then the flip side of the Design F and the right page:

I used a lot of iPhone photos again here and I used washi tape to jazz things up a bit.

And then here is the right page and a couple close ups.

I took a cue from Becky Higgins and asked Isaiah to draw a picture of our family on a 3x4 card.  After he was done, he gave it to me and explained who everyone was.  His explanation was so adorable, I wrote it out on a journal card to include next to his masterpiece.

Now to get caught up on about three weeks worth of recent photos!  Still, I love using this system of scrapbooking.  It makes me happy.  :)

Happy Tuesday, kids!
