I love it because it gives me a chance to breathe a bit and really enjoy the holiday without feeling like I'm "on duty" the entire time we are here.
While we enjoy some quality time napping and drinking wine while other people supervise our children, you can enjoy a few photos from last year's 4th of July that have left me wondering where the heck the last year has gone and how it is even possible that my Thomas was ever so "babyish."
To the members of my family who are reading this, I'm so sorry that I won't be able to come to our fireworks festivities this year. Work was unavoidable this time, I'm afraid. Save me some Roman Candles for next year, ok?
To my mother-in-law: This year, if the boy needs to go potty, how about we encourage him to go inside to the bathroom? Just thinking out loud here.
And dear Mother Nature,
This year, we'd all appreciate it if you would take it easy on the heat. My kids resembled beets after 3 minutes outside and that was no fun for anyone.
Then again, Slip n' Slide adventures with the cousins is a pretty good time.
