Project Life Tuesday - Weeks 29 and 30

The Mom Creative

Welcome to Project Life Tuesday!  Every week I share photos of a layout I've been working on, either in my family's weekly book or my son's baby book.  I started using the Project Life system in 2010, so this will be my fourth full year!  I used to be a very traditional scrapbooker who would spend hours on a single layout to document one or two photos.  Thanks to Project Life, I have become much more practical and I'm able to record a multitude more memories.

If you're looking for inspiration on what others are doing with their Project Life, you can check out my board on Pinterest and be sure to link up on The Mom Creative!

Let's talk about how far behind I am on my Project Life album.  Oh.  My.  Word.  I usually like to stay within 4 weeks so that I don't start to feel overwhelmed, but I am currently still working on creating week 32 in my album.  Yup, that would be August 4-10.  My plan is to go almost exclusively digital so I can try to bust out these layouts in record time so I can get caught back up.  At the end of the day, having the finished product with the memories recorded is the most important part to me.

These two weeks are a combination of digital and regular elements.

Week 29

I used a title card from the Seafoam kit, but the rest of the elements you see are from the Jade Edition.

How much fun it is to spray your kid with the sprinkler?  Love it.

We splurged this day and let the kids get their faces painted at the zoo.  Isaiah was careful to not even touch it, but Micah was a smeared tiger within minutes.

I got to visit a dear friend that I haven't seen in far too long this week and our kids played HARD.  I also took the boys to see Despicable Me 2 in an air conditioned theater for a little relief from the oppressive heat.

Sprinkler Instagram + filler kit from the Jade Edition.

Week 30

I used the Jade Edition, some cards from the Seasons mini kit, as well as some digital pieces in this week.  I also had TWO inserts!

The "Details" arrow on the title card is cut out of a journal card by SNAP@!

The "it's summer" card with the ice cream cone is from the Seasons mini kit.  I loved how it paired so nicely with the photo of my messy baby!  The "George and Blankee" card is a digital card from the Jade kit.

The first insert I used was a mini-page from the SNAP@ products I found at Michaels.  It has spots for two 3x4 photos and one 4x6 so I used it to create this little insert about the birth of Prince George.

The bottom card is digital - used the Jade kit.

The flip side of this insert is about a warm rain on a Sunday night where we let the kids run around and have a blast playing "Thunderstorm Frisbee" with our neighbors.

This Design J insert is all about when my Michigan Twin and her kids came to Milwaukee to visit!  We got to hang out at my place for a play date and then headed into the city the next day.

The bottom photo was created using the Rhonna Designs app on my iPhone and then I printed it at 4x4 like the other Instagrams.

The flip side is all about our adventures in Milwaukee, like when we found the spy themed restaurant hidden in the alley downtown and entered through the secret passageway.  The kids thought this place was incredible!

And finally, the right side.  Just a hodgepodge over here - trips to Target, thieving dogs, eating ice cream in secret, playing with spray paint.

Thanks again for stopping by today!  It should be fun to see how different things look the next couple weeks as I hit the digital ground running in the name of getting caught up!!  See you soon!
