The One Where I Got a Day Off

I had an entire afternoon kid-free to do whatever I wanted thanks to my hubby taking the kids to their Grandma's house and I'm currently using the last precious moments before they pull in the driveway to start typing this blog post while I watch back episodes of Glee on my DVR and I can't help but wonder why Rachel Berry wears a mini skirt and knee-high stripper boots to volunteer to tune pianos.

Quite frankly, the time passed far too quickly today.  I swear, I changed into my yoga pants one minute and made a bag of microwave popcorn for supper and all of a sudden Evan was texting me to let me know he was on his way home with the kids.  I worked on making flashcards for the menu items at my new job while I watched an extremely frustrating, albeit victorious, Packer game.

Aw, crap.  Apparently there were tornado warning near my grandmother's house on the night this particular episode of Glee aired, so my recording is being taken over by radar screens and meteorologists.  Now I've wasted even more time!!  Don't worry...nothing actually materialized or touched down so everyone was fine and dandy.

My mind has just been so scattered today.  I'm thinking about everything that has happened in the last couple days.  I had what was arguably the busiest week of work I have ever experienced only to end it by having to say good-bye to the customers and co-workers I have come to know and appreciate like family.

There was hair braiding.

And shot taking.

By the way, that pink one in front of the very underage Marissa is pink lemonade.

There was selfie-taking.

And margaritas.

To sum up, it was a good time, but also very bittersweet.  I know that I made the right decision, but it certainly didn't make leaving any easier.  There are some great people working at this joint, people.  I am honored to call them my friends.

Off to study my menu flashcards now.  And also, I need to Google "osso bucco" because I have no idea what that means.
